Now in its 12th year, Riverwalk Trust will again host Riverwalk Get Downtown, Fort Lauderdale’s largest outdoor cocktail hour, offering the best Flavors of Fort Lauderdale from local restaurants and bars in the courtyard Plaza at Las Olas, 333 E. Las Olas Blvd. on Friday, November 12, 2010, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Get Downtown will partner with YOLO restaurant, also located in the same plaza.
The event will raise funds for the Riverwalk Trust, a non-profit organization that serves as a catalyst in building and nurturing a vibrant community centered along the New River.
The spring Riverwalk Get Downtown netted more than $17,000 for Riverwalk Trust and had approximately 1,400 professionals in attendance. Riverwalk Get Downtown encourages employees and residents to spend time Downtown after work before going home and aims to celebrate Downtown business, employees and new homeowners.
For a $20 donation (prepaid online), or $25 at the door, attendees will receive two drink tickets to be redeemed at any YOLO bar, live entertainment from Datura Street Band and an array of tastes from restaurants including America’s Backyard, Big City Tavern, Briny Riverfront, Chima, Cold Stone Creamery, Jet Runway Café, Pop’s Corn, Mancini’s Ristorante, Rocco’s Tacos, SoLita Las Olas, VIBE and YOLO. They will also enjoy various libations including beverages from Stolichnaya, Hendrick’s Gin, Barefoot Wine and Bubbly, Bud Select 55 and Bud Light
For the first time ever, Riverwalk Get Downtown will offer a live fashion show featuring the styles of Tommy Bahama. Hair and makeup will be provided by Tease Salon.
Many local professional groups and support organizations are assisting Riverwalk Trust in promotion of the event, such as Young Professionals for Covenant House, Pet Set, Jessica June Children’s Cancer Foundation, Emerge Broward, Habitat for Humanity, Women in Distress, Grateful Paws Dog and Cat Rescue, the Downtown Civic
Association, Best Buddies of Broward, the Ghost Light Society and the Salvation Army.
Major supporters include Hampton Inn Fort Lauderdale City Center/Downtown, Maroone – an AutoNation Company, Go Riverwalk magazine, 101.5 Lite FM, YOLO, Premier Beverage, Stephen’s Distributing, Florida’s Print Shop, South Florida Photo, Las Olas Association and Stiles Corporation.

Admission is complimentary for Riverwalk Trust members at the Riverwalk 100 level and up.
